The department of Mathematics at NIT &MS was established in the year 2007 and has well qualified and dedicated staff members. The department provides a strong foundation of mathematical basics which are building blocks of all subjects of Engineering fields.
Mathematics develops Computational Skills, Critical thinking & problem solving skills. The theory, Discipline and techniques taught in Mathematics Courses are equally important in today’s society.

The Department is striving to import excellent teaching in mathematics to the students that support s to technical education. The student will obtain abilities to critically assess numerical & graphical information, learn to formulate strategies for solving problems . The department, through its faculty, will continue to contribute to the body of knowledge of the discipline where in traditional research, applied research or research in the teaching of mathematics.
